The iHEART conference on Modelling the Cardiac Function has been held from 22 to 24 July in Varese, Villa Toeplitz, home of the prestigious Riemann International School of Mathematics.
The congress has gathered many of the distinguished researchers currently working on the modelling and numerical simulation of the whole cardiac function. Along the plenary lectures and the various interventions and poster session, the Conference has created the possibility of a full immersive context in which many fruitful discussions have been taken. Its benefits will long last in terms of collaborations, new meetings and further exchange of ideas, that is, ultimately, in a substantial improvement of the science in this important subject.
Together with the plenary speakers, namely Dominique Chapelle (INRIA, FR), Antionio F. Corno (U. Leicester, UK), Miguel Fernandez (INRIA, FR), Antonio Frontera (H, San Raffaele, IT), Rolf Krause (USI, CH), David Nordsletten (U. Michigan USA and King’s College London UK), Gernot Plank (U. Graz, AT), Nicholas Smith (U. Auckland, NZ), Natalia Trayanova (Johns Hopkins U., USA), many important contributions have been brought by participants from many of the main scientific groups working on heart simulation from all over the world.
