2019 RISM Congress

iHEART - Modelling the Cardiac Function

22-24 July 2019

This congress, organised in the context of the prestigious Riemann International School of Mathematics, aims at focusing on the state of the art in the mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of the cardiac function and its clinical applications.

This event will host 8 plenary lectures from distinguished scientists as well as contributed talks some presented by PhD students and some by senior researchers, and a poster session. PhD students selected for contributed presentation will be offered free accommodation.

The Congress is organized by RISM and MOX - Politecnico di Milano, and is partially supported by the EU ERC-ADG - Advanced Grant iHEART Project ID: 740132 - iheart.polimi.it

ADMISSION

Due to logistic constrain, admission is limited to 60 participants.
A participation fee of 120€ is due. The fee is reduced to 60€ for PhD students.

VILLA TOEPLITZ

• The city of Varese is 20 km far from Malpensa Airport and 50 km from Milano to which is connected through Trenitalia Ferrovie Nord and FS railways and by car with Highway A8/A9.

• Villa Toeplitz, is the headquarter of RISM and the venue of the event and is 5 km far from Varese downtown and railway stations to which is connected by BUS Line C  (bus stop of villa Toeplitz is "Virgilio (Prealpi)".
  Free parking for private cars available at the Villa.

- From Malpensa Airport to Varese railway station there are varous direct trains to “Varese”. An alternative option is the Malpensa Express train to Saronno and then change for any local train with final destination “Varese” or “Laveno Mombello” (approx travel time 50 mins).

- From Linate or Orio Airports to Varese railway station, go first to Milano Cadorna railway station by shuttle and/or public transportation, then take any train with final destination “Varese” or “Laveno-Mombello”, train stop - Varese.  

- From Milano Porta Garibaldi  railway station you can take any train with final destination Varese.

- From Varese railway station, the bus C with final destination “S. Monte” takes you to Villa Toeplitz - RISM (stop “Virgilio-Prealpi”).
